Talon IV:  The Family Way (85,000 word manuscript)

Can a family oriented girl from Texas teach a genetically engineered warrior from a distant planet the love to be found within the family way of life?

Faced with extinction, the genetically engineered race of Raggaelian warriors turn to the descendants of a lost colony called Earth.  Volunteers from this fertile planet are to be paired as Temporary Mates for one year with the warriors in exchange for advanced medical and weapons technology.

KARLI McLEOD, orphaned five years before and left with the responsibility of raising a young brother with a serious medical condition, responds to a newspaper article advertising free military medical benefits to anyone participating for one year in an experimental colony unaware that she is intended to be breeding stock.

Bn’AVROM, High Commander of the Raggaelian Star Force, is in charge of the colony on Talon IV, but not required to take a mate.  Having been raised in a training unit and knowing his biological parents only as records of lineage, he is drawn to a way of life he’d never known.  The family way.

Talon IV:  Maggie's Family (work in progress)

MAGGIE ELLISON, a young woman who has been raised in the foster care system, witnesses the murder of an undercover FBI agent.  When the investigation is turned over to a man introduced as FBI Special Agent MacDEVLYN, one look at the giant has her hormones doing the lambada.  She pushes the attraction aside reminding herself she doesn’t trust men.  Any man.

Devlyn, a member of an alien race of warriors, has been in retirement, avoiding taking responsibility for others since the events of a tragic mission ten years previously.  The murdered agent had been a former Lieutenant on that mission.  Only the highest levels of government know the Raggaelians have members of their race living on Earth observing the culture.  Devlyn is in search of a renegade warrior posing a threat to their tenuous link with Earth.  He has no desire to assume responsibility and he certainly doesn’t need to feel this unexpected attraction for the witness.
